My Life: Anime, Manga, Video Games

It’s been a while but…

Yeah, been busy with new friends and classes (and missing them. whoops.)

Anyways, Bleach 186 was released yesterday. Twas a damn good episode too I might add. Nice little twist at the end that I wasn’t expecting….ok so I sorta was but I was actually hoping for the end of this arc since I like the *real* show better. meh.

Soul Eater 22, taking forever to get subbed as usual, was…uneventful. OOOOO you fought an illusion! Good for you for being so unobservant. Hopefully 23 will be better.

In other news, I quit AoC. Got tired of the GMs’ lack of being able to actually do crap and the horrible PvP system for lowbies. I started up Ryzom again though, great game.

(Cireus-Anime to download the anime!)

AoC Gold Farmers Suck

Aye, anyone else get annoyed by the /tell spams and the message box spam? I know I do. Here’s a little ditty I composed (sorta, I mean….I just changed the lyrics).

Gold Farmin’ Machine
(Killing Machine by Judas Priest)

I never give no answers, I never /tell no lies
I never walk a straight line so I never get surprised
I don’t ask no credit cards so I won’t get abused
I learned to farm when I was young
So I’m never ever gonna lose

They pay me the money and I’ll do the job
I got a contract for you
I got a contract, for you

I never send no resources, I never use my gold
I always found /t spamming helps to keep me and my kind alive
I take care of business, It takes care of me
I look after myself and do it well
’cause some GM’s always looking for me

They pay me the money and I’ll do the job
I got a contract for you
I got a contract for you

What manner of farmer am I?
A coin purse, lump sum and then I move on
What manner of buyer are you?
Stab a friend’s back to jump a queue

I do what I do ‘cos I can’t do nothing better
You do what you do, just buyin’ my gold

‘cos you ain’t got nothin’ better to do

I got no guild, no name, I’m just a gold farming machine
I kept the gold grindin down, if you know what I mean
I never stop in one place, I move about the regions
Got expensive tastes, but I hasten to add that
I’m the best that there is

They pay me the money and I’ll do the job
I got a contract for you
I got a contract for you

I got a contract for you
I got a contract for you

Characters

So far in AoC I’ve played

Necromancer – my main, I love the squish caster :) high DPS. my favorite
Assassin – I’m gonna wait until they balance the male/female damage a bit.
Herald of Xotli – looove this class. currently taking a break due to it being yet another caster
Guardian – not my cup of tea. not enough cool combos. sure, you get full plate and mega HP but blah class to me
Bear Shaman – fun. very fun. haven’t gone far because I wanted to try Dark Templar.
Dark Templar – haven’t stopped playing it since I started (except for guild events). great magic/melee combo. the polar opposite of the HoX in terms of spell/combo types.

Ebonlore is gone

Yes that’s right. Ebonwh–Ebonlore is gone…from Age of Conan at least. It seems someone hacked their site and their officers’ AoC accounts. Their guild was disbanded, officers lost all their gear and money, and their Guild City and Battle Keep are up for grabs. Oh, and there are some screenshots out confirming Ebonlore’s hacking. Pretty nifty stuff. I’m glad they’re gone though, that guild ruins games.

Age of Conan

I love this game. There’s no other way for me to describe how much I enjoy playing it. Sure you’ve got your guilds like Ebonwh–Ebonlore who make the game less fun because of hacking, exploiting, zerging, and whining to GMs, but then you’ve also got the expert PvPers like Unforgiven who gank you after moving an inch. The guild I’ve stuck with for more than two years is The Exodus Gaming Syndicate. We were the first to Tier 1 and Tier 2 Guild City Keeps and the 3rd to Tier 3 and a Battle keep on the Tyrrany Server. I love my guild, they’re all great individuals. Many call us a zerg guild because we have members. Personally, I believe y’all are just jealous that we can get members. Though, our numbers don’t even stand up to Ebonlore, damn talk about a zerg guild… I don’t prefer PvP servers (my guild went there so I followed) BUT what are you going to do if someone starts killing your mobs on a PvE server? Bitch to a GM? Have a staring contest? No. You can’t do jack. I’ve been in AoC since February Beta, some aspects of the game that were changed, I liked. Yet most of the content that was changed, was for the better. The current Shield of Risen is horrible though. Casters can’t buff themselves or summon pets until the shield wears off. Talk about the ultimate gank, unbuffed casters. For the most part, Funcom has done it right and by the book. I mean, they took an extra 7 hours for a patch on the last “free day” from the free month MMO companies give you with the game. So what did they do? Gave us an extra day. That was great! I got an extra day to play and without any effort at all.

I do have a problem with Funcom’s crafting system. Talk about a POS system. It’s a joke. Anyone can craft high level gear after only a few hours of leveling their crafting skills. No difficulty involved. The only exceptions are Alchemy (gotta find all the mats or have a TON of money) and Architecture (need $$$ to buy plans). Ryzom (may it rest in peace) had a much better crafting system. In fact, it’s the best I’ve ever seen. Though I haven’t been in MMOs for very long, a guildmate of mine, Kalindra, often comments on how Ryzom was the hardest crafting system around. I can’t even fathom how much time she put into crafting in that game…..it was insane.
